Thorns, Pits, and the Other Hallway Hazards

After the Hazard Update, Thorns are a hallway tile from Floor 15, not a creature. Pits still kill. Three other hallway badges exist with little published behavior.

Thorns, Pits, and the Other Hallway Hazards

After the Hazard Update, Thorns are a hallway tile from Floor 15, not a creature. Pits still kill. Three other hallway badges exist with little published behavior.

The Roblox experience page lists The HAZARD Update as current new content, and the place was updated on 14 October 2026. Full patch notes were not posted on that page. What the guides changed afterward is the Thorns classification.

Thorns, two eras

Current documentation: Thorns are an environmental hallway, not an entity. They are green bushes about 3 to 5 studs across. They slow you, lower your jump, and tick small damage. They do not instant-kill. They are documented from Floor 15 upward. Entering one awards That Stings. Entities can still walk through them. A calm Bone Hound will not see you inside a bush. A Cave-Crawler can lose its three-second stare if you hide in one, while the ticks continue.

Earlier Kiwi-era footage: thorns showed up on Floor 2, spread faster, and dealt less damage per tick than before that update. Growth could clip through walls and past gates. If your server still shows Floor 2 bushes, you are not on the Floor 15 rule. Delete the choke points anyway.

Hammer delete removes a bush. Some grow back. Clear doors and vents first. Do not drag a chase through a thorn hall if you can shut a door instead. The slow is worse than the damage.

Pits

Facility pits and broken bridges are instant death (Into The Pit). Mansion documentation says that theme has no bottomless pits. Check the floor at every vent exit before you sprint. A dropped ore or Reviver that falls out of the map comes back on a random valid tile. A player's head comes back to the elevator center.

Hallway badges with thin mechanics

These are official requirements. Detailed damage numbers were not published:

Badge Official requirement What else is known
Power Issues Encounter a Hallway Outage Name only.
Watch Your Step Encounter a Puddle Hallway Name only.
That Stings Encounter a Thorns Hallway Slow, low jump, damage ticks.
Shock Hazard Encounter an Exposed Wiring Hallway Dropping food here cooks it and can award Unconventional Cooking.

Glass is separate. Glass Breaker shatters windows (Employee Negligence). Shattering your own glass gate is Team Sabotage. Repairing it is Repair Crew. A voted Glass Gate lets you see through a closed wing door before you open it on a Weatherman or a hound.

Research text ties Thorns to greenhouse plant experiments that were still contained when the evacuation started. The same text blames greenhouse power draw for the generator failure that released the entities.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

What are you actually trying to do in Fatal Floors?

Ride the elevator, loot the four wings for ore, and fill the Coin Meter at the Sell Bin before the elevator leaves. Floor 1 is always the Facility, with five Iron Ore, only the Blob, and an 8-credit quota.

Can you kill the monsters?

No. Entities are not damaged by tools. You evade them, break line of sight, hide in vents, or shut a wing gate. A Go-Kart horn can scare a Cave-Crawler, and a gate slammed in its face leaves it idle.

Which class should a new player unlock first?

Chef or Hoarder. Chef starts with a campfire, ham, and carrot. Hoarder starts with extra bag space, bonus money, and a Gold Ore. Beginner has 100 HP and no items.

Are there working codes?

No working or expired code strings were found, and no in-game code box has been documented. Reward text from other Roblox games is not a Fatal Floors code.

How do you revive a teammate?

A living player uses a Reviver syringe on the fallen player's head. The syringe is consumed and the player returns at full health. It cannot revive you in a solo run. A dead player can also pay 45 Robux within 30 seconds.
